Who we are
Orthopedic Masterminds is a joint initiative of two renowned shoulder and elbow surgeons, Dr. Cristobal Maccioni Romero and Dr. Rodrigo Liendo Verdugo, who have joined forces to innovate in the field of orthopedics and traumatology.
Dr. Cristobal Maccioni Romero
Orthopedic shoulder and elbow surgeon, currently part of the medical staff at the Hospital de Carabineros and Clínica BUPA Santiago. Ad honorem professor of undergraduate and postgraduate programs at University of Chile for 10 years, is an outstanding professional in
his field.
He obtained his Medical degree at the University of Chile, and approved his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the same institution.
He alsoobtained a Master's degree in Sports Traumatology at the University of Barcelona.
After completing his Shoulder and Elbow Surgery training (AOA fellowship) at Royal North Shore Hospital and Sydney Shoulder Research Institute in Australia, he has gained clinical experience in the field.
He has special interest in shoulder and elbow arthroplasty and reconstruction, as well as management of trauma. He also has experience in arthroscopic elbow surgery, technique that he learned from Prof Dr. Denise Eygendaal in The Netherlands. He has also contributed significantly to medical education and research in his area of specialty.
Dr. Rodrigo Liendo Verdugo,
Houlder and elbow surgeon at the Hospital Clínico Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, is another pillar of our organization. He is a surgeon with a specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the University of Chile, and a Fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the ATOS Klinik Heidelberg, Germany. Additionally, he has completed postgraduate studies in Biomedical Statistics, Health Administration and Medical Education.
His past experience as president of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Chile stands out.
With their vast professional background, reputation for excellence and extensive experience in shoulder and elbow surgery, they have joined forces to create Orthopedic Masterminds. Their mission is to promote cutting-edge education in the field of orthopedics, foster discussion and exchange of ideas, and facilitate continuous improvement in the practice of orthopedic medicine.
